Chinese restaurant flooded

A CHINESE restaurant was forced to call out the fire brigade when a flash heavy rain storm caused water to drip onto tables.

Bosses at the Red Lantern in Bank Parade, Burnley, called the fire brigade at around 10pm on Thursday which followed heavy rain earlier in the evening.

Road work going on outside the restaurant had created a big hole which became flooded very quickly and seeped into the restaurant located in a basement.

Watch manager Kieron Ogden said: “The restaurant was worried because water was dripping off the roof. We isolated the electrics and tidied up afterwards.”

The restaurant is open as usual.
