Global hip hop sensation Snoop Dogg, more used to cruising round Long Beach, California, has revealed his respect for the Long Side, Turf Moor.

The cult gangsta rapper from the west coast of the USA is now producing his hit songs using Burnley-made mxixing technology, courtesy of AMS Neve.

It’s dope. I love it.

And the sports-mad star has now got his hands on a Clarets shirt thanks to the Burnley company who visited his Los Angeles studio.

Snoop, real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr., has built his new LA recording studio around a Genesys Black recording console designed and produced in Burnley by AMS Neve, the world leaders in professional audio.

He was presented with his Clarets shirt by AMS Neve marketing officer Elizabeth Wilkinson who met the multi-award-winning artist in the studio where the firm’s huge best selling console has recently been installed.

Snoop, who’s also starred in several hit movies, said: “It’s dope. I love it.”

He’s also quite pleased with his new Genesys recording desk, the latest acquisition to his Beach City Music studio in California.

The desk is the centrepiece of Snoop’s studio A, named “The Mothership”. Studio B (The Battleship) and studio C (The Battlecruiser) complete the line-up inside the 20,000sq ft. building which is just five minutes away from Los Angeles International airport.

Snoop’s right hand man, producer DJ Pooh, said: “The AMS Neve console is great. Snoop could have any console he wanted but the Genesys Black just did exactly what we wanted it to. It sounds amazing. It just fits. The desk has just taken everything to the next level. We love it.”

Snoop fans may have to wait sometime for a new album following his latest release this summer of “Coolaid”, Snoop’s 14th studio album.

AMS Neve’s Elizabeth Wilkinson had travelled from the company’s Burnley HQ to attend an international audio engineering show in LA.

She said: “Snoop loves his console and our Burnley-based team has worked closely with him on the install, so when I received the invitation to see the finished studio, it was an opportunity not to be missed and really exciting.

“Snoop is a huge soccer fan and has a vast collection of sports jerseys and football shirts. It was only natural that we should present him with a Burnley FC shirt to add to his collection. His very own Clarets shirt now sits proudly next to his Genesys Black console!”
