Runners blaze trail in Burnley Fire Brigade 10k run

Hundreds of runners took to the streets for the Burnley Fire Brigade’s 10k race.

Fun runners joined serious athletes is the annual charity challenge held by Burnley firefighters.

The sun shone as the run started from Burnley’s new-look fire station. The race was won by Jonathan McKenna in 35 minutes and eight seconds.

A fun run for under 16s took place which was a mile-long course around Queen’s Park.

The major fund-raising event has raised around £2,500 for the Firefighters’ Charity and Pendleside Hospice.
