Police hunt three men after Burnley crash

THREE men who fled the scene of a car crash in a busy Burnley road yesterday are wanted by police.

The accident happened in Queen Victoria Road when a blue Peugeot 406 was in collision with a silver Vauxhall Meriva at around 3-30 p.m.

But the driver of the Peugeot and two passengers, who are described as Asian, abandoned the car and ran off up towards Briercliffe Road.

One person was treated for minor injuries at the scene and police were forced to shut off the road until just before 5 p.m.

Officers are now appealing for information to help identify the three men who fled the accident and a description has been issued.

The first man was wearing a grey tracksuit top, the second was described as of slim build, wearing a tracksuit top and bottoms and wearing a baseball cap.

The third man had dark hair and was wearing a grey tracksuit top, a t-shirt and trainers.
