PHOTOS: New beers marks Burnley Express’s 125th Anniversary
RENOWNED Burnley brewery Moorhouse’s is toasting the 125th anniversary of the Burnley Express in the way only it can – by brewing a special beer.
Brewer’s Scoop, a pale 4.2% thirst-quenching session beer, will be being pulled around pubs in Burnley throughout the year so that everyone can raise a glass to our special birthday. The fitting name was chosen by Burnley Express reporter Hannah Ramsden.
Moorhouse’s managing director Mr David Grant said: “Brewer’s Scoop has a nice balance of sweet and bitterness, right down the middle.
“It is very moreish and has biscuit aftertastes. I’m sure lovers of real ale in Burnley will appreciate the brew as much as they appreciate the paper.”
He went on: “We’re delighted to be marking the Burnley Express 125th anniversary because it has supported us and many other businesses in Burnley so well for so many years. Here’s to the Burnley Express! Cheers!”
