TWO men have been arrested for making threats to kill following a dramatic siege at a house in Burnley.

Dozens of police surrounded the property in Cairo Street yesterday from 1-30pm after two men, one wielding a knife, barricaded themselves in.

One of the men, aged 27, emerged from the house shortly after and was arrested on suspicion of burglary and threats to kill.

Specialist negotiators continued to communicate with the 25-year-old man still in the property and he eventually came out at 4-40pm. He was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, section 47 assault and threats to kill.
