A photo of a Burnley family taken during the First World War has made its way into a special commemorative collection.

The photo shows a soldier, in the Royal Ordance Corps, his wife and young daughter.

It forms part of “The Army Children of the First World War” project, established by The Army Children Archive (TACA) as part of the First World War Centenary Partnership, led by Imperial War Museums.

The Partnership is delivering a global programme of events and activities inspiring young and old to connect with the lives, stories and impact of the First World War.

The identities of the family captured in this photo are unknown but we know it was taken in a Burnley studio, Barcroft and Crabtree, of 4 Pratt Street.
