Pensioner hit by car in Padiham

An elderly person was rushed to hospital after she was involved in a collision with a car in Padiham.

The 84-year-old was hit by a motorist while crossing the road junction on Wyre street near to the Factory Shop around 10am on Wednesday.

Firefighters were first on the scenee to help.

Crew manager Lee Garnett said: “Firefighters used oxygen therapy, first aid and ensured that the casualty was as comfortable as possible prior to the arrival of an ambulance.

“The casualty suffered knee, hip and hand injuries and was conveyed to hospital by ambulance.”
