Padiham cemetery gets a facelift

Residents, coucillors and a community payback team have come together to improve a historic cemetery in Padiham.

The St Leonard’s Church graveyard had become overgrown over the summer months prompting calls from residents and Padiham Coun. Alan Hosker for it to be cleaned up.

A group was promptly set up on Facebook and now volunteers go most nights to maintain the cemetery.

Coun. Hosker said: “Everyone is pulling together to esnure the cemetery is safe and pleasant for people to visit.

“It’s really nice to be involved and see the good people of Padiham spending their spare time down there.

“I would also like to thank the community payback team for their hard work. The cemetery is looking a lot better.”
