A Burnley leisure centre has helped hundreds of residents experience the fun side of fitness.
St Peter’s Leisure Centre opened its doors and hosted a boot camp in Burnley town centre as part of UK Active’s National Fitness Day.
Free classes and free swimming were available throughout the day, allowing people of all abilities to experience everything from spinning, to circuit classes, to aerobics in an interactive and enjoyable environment.
Centre manager Scott Bryce said: “There were more than 400 people turn up to the leisure centre and the town centre - it was really good.
“The feedback has been very positive. People loved it.
“For us it’s a case of letting people know what services we provide, and how people can be complete beginners or trained athletes to take part.”
National Fitness Day is the largest celebration of physical activity in the UK.
Hundreds of venues across the country opened their doors for free, to provide people with the inspiration and opportunities to lead a healthy lifestyle.
