Fire-fighters were called out to help in the rescue of an injured swan in Burnley.

A member of the public had retrieved the swan from a pond in Bank Hall Park this morning (Wednesday) where it appeared to be struggling.

Crew manager Gary Thorpe said: “There were no obvious signs of injury to the swan but it looked in a poorly condition.

“We notified the RSPCA who came and collected it.”
