The weather might not always permit it but us Brits are a nation of barbeques lovers and now latest research has discovered that one in ten Brits will attend more than 20 barbeques this summer.
The survey, carried out by frozen food producer Aunt Bessie's, asked 1,000 people about their barbecuing habits, to find out what makes their perfect summertime party.
'Interesting and unusual sides is where the real excitement is'
It appears that the food is by far the most important factor of a barbecue too with 82 per cent voting for it.
Aunt Bessie explains how you can give your guests a meal to remember.
“There’s nothing wrong with the classic burger bun, but it definitely won’t have that ‘unforgettable’ factor," says Aunt Besse.
"Whilst 51 per cent of Brits still look forward to meat the most, interesting and unusual sides are where the real excitement is. Almost a third (31 per cent) look forward to potato and sweet potato sides, closely followed by corn on the cob (21 per cent) and surprisingly, salad (15 per cent). By buying readily chopped, frozen sides, you can save yourself time to focus on manning the barbeque.”
The research also found 69 per cent voted for sunny weather as being the second most important factor to a barbecue whilst just 43 per cent voted for the guests.
So what's the most important factor in your summer BBQ?
