A BURNLEY woman is preparing to pose for a nude calendar to raise money for the charity which supported her after she suffered a miscarriage.
Mrs Rebecca Foulger (30), who lives in Burnley Wood, discovered she was pregnant in November but lost the baby after nine weeks.
The former Towneley High School pupil will join 21 other women from across the country for the calendar photoshoot in the summer to raise funds for the Miscarriage Association.
“We found out we were pregnant in November but, the day before my husband Neil’s 30th birthday, we found out the baby had a died,” said Mrs Foulger.
Mrs Foulger said after the tragedy she did not know where to turn until she “stumbled upon” the Miscarriage Association’s website.
“Miscarriage isn’t talked about. It was only after I had my miscarriage that some of my friends told me they had lost babies.
“Through the calendar I want to help raise awareness and get people to talk about it more.
“Nobody wants to think about it.
“Doing the calendar is a bit daunting because I’m a plus-size and I don’t have a lot of self confidence.
“Having a miscarriage knocks your confidence, you think it’s your fault even though there is no reason. It can happen to anybody at any age. It’s just awful.”
Mrs Foulger will shoot her July pose with three other women on August 29th with the calendar printed in September.
