A daring mum is now sporting a multi-coloured Mohican-style hairstyle – all to thank hospice nurses.

Michelle Barlow (29) went for the chop at Emma B’s salon in Colne Road, Burnley, and she is now used to admiring glances from passers-by!

She is being sponsored to raise money for Pendleside Hospice where her mum, Mrs Janet Barlow, is being treated after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Janet is in remission but still regularly visits to the hospice.

Michelle, mum to Dylan (six) and four-year-old Isobel, wanted to do something to thank the nurses for their care. So far she has raised £490 and will be collecting until next Thursday.

To sponsor Michelle, email her at michellebarlow83@yahoo.co.uk. Collection boxes are also at St Mary Magdalene’s Primary School,Wellfield Drive, Burnley, and the salon.
