A Burnley coffee house claims to be the first in the UK to become a centralised hub for electronic cigarette users.
Empire Coffee House, in St James’s Street, has undergone £60,000 worth of renovations and bosses said it is a place where both electronic cigarette users and non-smokers can socialise together.
Owner Mr Ryan Lord said he now plans to expand the business across the North-West.
He said: “I saw a gap in the market to create a café which welcomes electronic cigarette users, in accordance with the law, to smoke inside, enabling electronic cigarette smokers to still socialise with friends, while having a coffee.
“The success and feedback we have gained has led to our decision to apply for an alcohol licence and we hope to open more Empire coffee shops across the region, fulfilling the needs of electronic cigarette users throughout the North- West.”
