Mystery still surrounds the future of a landmark Padiham building in the town centre, weeks after it was sold at auction.

The former Natwest bank, in Burnley Road, went under the hammer last month at the Dorchester in London and was bought for £130,000.

Rumours are rife in the town that the iconic building has been bought by a local developer but this week they refused to comment on the site.

The bank closed in 2012 and had latterly opened for just a few hours a week.
