Hapton Primary School pupils lay crosses on the war memorial outside their school in memory of the 60 men from the village who lost their lives in the First World War.

Crosses were laid by pupils from Hapton Primary School to pay tribute to the 60 soldiers from the village who had died during the First World War.

All classes at the school have been working together to commemorate the centenary of WWI. There have been various visitors giving talks, including family members of the school’s pupils and a veteran from the Royal British Legion.

The children and staff all enjoyed researching and finding out about the individual soldiers and what life was like during the war. The week finished with an assembly, a service and the laying of crosses on the war memorial outside the school.
