A group of Burnley residents stepped back in time to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
People living in Anchor Housing apartments at Townfields, St Mary’s Gate, brought memorabilia, listened to war-time songs and enjoyed a buffet to commemorate the historic milestone. They also remembered the Second World War as part of the celebrations.
They were visited by members of the Burnley and Padiham branch of the Royal British Legion and Fr Richards from St Catherine’s Church.
Organiser Mrs Maureen Scott said: “It was a fantastic day. It was very well attended. There are 39 flats and we also had guests coming along.”
