Burnley MP Julie Cooper has praised the important contribution that charity trustees make to their communities and thanked the 1,099 trustees in Burnley for their hard work.
A range of activities and services are carried out by the charities in Burnley, all of which couldn’t carry out their important work without the diligent efforts of trustees, most of whom are volunteers.
Trustees Week highlights the important work that charity trustees do all year round and raises awareness of how people can gain skills through volunteering as a charity trustee.
Mrs Cooper said: “The charities in Burnley wouldn’t be able to make a difference without the important contribution of the charity trustees. I want to thank the 1,099 trustees for their tireless dedication to the civic life of Burnley.”
