A MAN was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car while crossing a Burnley town centre road.
The 37-year-old suffered serious leg, arm and head injuries after he was struck by a blue Vauxhall Corsa in Centenary Way at 8-30 p.m. last night.
Police closed the road for three-and-a-half hours following the accident causing delays for fans travelling away from Burnley’s game against Birmingham.
The Corsa had been travelling down Centenary Way towards the town centre when the impact of the collision caused it to cross the central reservation and land on the opposite side of the carriageway. The driver was uninjured.
The pedestrian was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
