Man glassed in Burnley pub attack

A BURNLEY man needed stitches in his eye after he was glassed in a vicious pub attack.

The 35-year-old victim was drinking with friends in the Turf Hotel, in Yorkshire Street, around midnight on Friday when he was set upon by another man wielding a glass.

He was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital where he received stitches to two cuts around his left eye.

Police arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the attack but he has since been released pending further inquiries.
