Officers are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted at a pub in Burnley.

The incident happened at around 8-15pm on Friday, December 11 when a 35-year-old man was attacked in The Princess Royal in Yorkshire Street.

It is believed the man was attacked with a glass, suffering a cut to his head and cut to his left hand.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and would like to speak to anyone in the pub at the time.

PC Carla Martin, of Burnley Police, said: "From the CCTV footage there appears to be a few people sat at the rear of the beer garden who have potentially witnessed the incident.

"We would like to speak to these people and urge them to contact police."
