TWO people were taken to hospital following a road accident in Burnley.

A Peugeot 206 and a motorbike collided near the top of Brunshaw Road today (Sunday) at 3-10pm forcing police to close the road for a short time while emergency services attended the incident.

The woman driver of the Peugoet had to be cut free by firefighters and was taken to hospital, as was the male motorcyclist.

Crew manager Anthony Harrison said: “We used holmatro cutters to free the woman who was in the car on her own. The motorcylist was already being attended to by paramedics when we arrived.”

The cause of the accident at this stage is unclear.
