Urgent appeal for missing Rawtenstall boy

MISSING: Alex Jones (11) from Rawtenstall (s)

MISSING: Alex Jones (11) from Rawtenstall (s)

POLICE have expressed their concern overthe welfare of an 11-year-old boy from Rawtenstall, who has been missing since Sunday afternoon.

Alex Jones has not been seen since around 1-35pm on July 22nd, when he was in Bury Town Centre, in Greater Manchester. It is believed he left his home around lunchtime.

He was last seen wearing a vest with a Garfield motif to the front, multi-coloured shorts and red Vans pumps.

Detective Inspector Marie Haworth from Burnley CID said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have seen Alex to come forward and contact the police.

“He has been missing for more than 24 hours and given that he is only 11 years old, people are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“Any sightings of Alex or anyone who may have information about where he might be then I would urge them to get in touch with police immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Burnley police on 101.

People with information can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
