Pro cricketers bowled over by leisure centres

Two professional cricketers have tried not to get caught out on their fitness levles by training at local gyms.

Read and Padiham cricket club professionals Ravi Jangid and Brady Barends have been making use of St Peter’s and Padiham Leisure Centres thanks to a partnership between the clubs and the Burnley Leisure Trust.

Garry Stein, Padiham Leisure Centre manager, said: “We’re delighted to contribute to the players’ success by providing access to our facilities.

“They both have been making full use of our membership package, which includes fitness rooms, more than 100 different fitness classes a week, health suites and swimming pools at both Padiham and St Peter’s Leisure centres.”

Callum Clarke from Padiham Cricket Club said: “The partnership with Burnley Leisure works really well and it is great to have them on board again.”

All-rounder Ravi from India and bowler Brady from South Africa, have each played more than 100 first class, list A and Twenty20 matches in their countries.
