A mountain biker injured in a crash on Burnley moorland was airlifted to safety.

The 55-year-old man was hurt in a fall along the Gorple Road above Worsthorne on Sunday.

Mountain rescue teams from Pendle and Calder Valley were called out at around 10-30am.

The Air Ambulance was scrambled to rescue the injured biker from the remote moorland spot and was flown to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment.
