A Manchester United legend was the star attraction at Padiham FC’s annual sportman’s dinner.

Ex-England and Leeds midfielder Lee Sharpe entertained the audience at the Turf Moor event.

On the night there was entertainment from a magician, comedian and hypnotist Bill Flywheel.

Padiham FC manager Steve Wilkes was even brought up on stage to undergo hypnosis.

Alan Smith, secretary of Padiham FC, said: “He took it in good humour. It made the evening a very good night. Everyone had tears in their eyes.”

More than 130 people came out to support the fund-raiser for Padiham FC which is held every year.

Sports memorabilia including items from Manchester United, Burnley FC and even the late boxing legend Henry Cooper.

Mr Smith said: “it was a great evening and it was very well attended.”
