A driver suffered head injuries in a car crash in Burnley.
The man was hurt in the smash along the Long Causeway in Cliviger on Thursday night.
The victim managed to free himself from his car following the accident which happened at 8-20pm on Thursday night.
Fire crews were called in over fears the vehicle could catch fire after smoke began pouring from the engine.
The driver had injured his head in the collision and was given first aid at the scene by firefighters before paramedics arrived.
There were no other vehicles involved in the accident.
Burnley Station Manager Steve Morgan urged motorists to take care driving in adverse weather conditions.
He said: “The safety message is for drivers to take care on the roads when it is wet and windy.
“Ensure you are wearing a seatbelt and take extra caution at the moment because driving conditions are difficult.
“Driving through flood water can also be a risk and beware of surface water.”
