Golfers played around to raise £675 for Christie's

Award­ winning Burnley based Moorhouse's Brewery held its 14th annual golf competition at Clitheroe Golf Club.

With golfers from the brewery, customers and suppliers, 17 teams took part in the sporting charity event, which included a raffle, that raised £675 for Christie’s NHS Foundation Trust.

The Roggerham Gate pub team of M. Anderson, J. Wright, P. Wright and Tony Wiaczek won the day with 81 points while the top spot as individual player of the contest was M. Anderson from Roggerham Gate with 37 points. Runners up were C. Parker of Romwear with 36 points and P. Johnson from Cassons with 34 points.

“Nearest to pin’ was awarded to Rob Skinner, “Nearest the line’ to Gary Howarth and the “Longest drive’ was achieved by C. Taylor. Moorhouse’s chairman Mr Bill Parkinson said: “It was a fantastic day and I didn’t want it to end.

“We are delighted to raise funds for the Christie NHS Foundation which does excellent work in the treatment and research of cancer.”
