CLARETS star Charlie Austin was in town to talk healthy living with schoolchildren in Burnley today.

The hotshot striker was grilled by children on all things “green” at the Start Sustainable Burnley Harvest Festival.

The superstar footballer answered questions on everything from his favourite foods to how he stays fit and healthy to play for Burnley FC during the free town centre event.

The pupils from Padiham St Leonard’s Primary and Wellfield Methodist and Anglican Church School put the goal machine in the hot seat to help spread the message about their pioneering Pop Up Farm project.

Europe’s top-scoring forward Austin talked about his day-to-day life playing for the Clarets and encouraged the youngsters to exercise and eat healthy.

Freya (9) from Wellfield school said: “It was really exciting. We got to talk to Charlie Austin. We asked him about when he started playing football, what his favourite food is and if he ever thought about growing his own fruit and vegetables.”
