BURNLEY singing starlet Hollie Steel has got her heart set on becoming "the next Charlotte Church" as she prepares to release her first album.
The 11-year-old Britain's Got Talent Star, who grew up in Longton Road, off Pendle Way, before moving to Huncoat with her family, has so far recorded nine tracks for the as yet untitled album which features songs from musicals and operas and some classical titles.
Her mum Nina said Holly has been inspired to sing more classical pieces by the 23-year-old Welsh diva who was catapulted to international fame aged 13 with the release of her debut album "Voice Of An Angel."
Mum Nina said: "Hollie has also recorded some classical songs for the album which people won't really expect. She sings them really well, better than some of the musical theatre ones.
"She is an aspiring Charlotte Church and I'll try my best to help her get there."
Hollie has been busy recording the album at the new ACE Centre in Nelson and has enlisted Pendle's Arden Youth Choir to perform on some of the tracks.
The Oakhill College pupil hopes to release a single in time for Christmas, followed by the finished album.
"Fans from Hong Kong, America and Germany have been asking when Hollie is going to release an album," said Nina.
"I've been speaking to Hollie's manager and we are going to try and get a single out for Christmas. We don't really know about the album although it would be better if it was out for Christmas. We'll just have to wait and see."
