Generous Leighton has raised £150 in aid of Pendleside Hospice with the help and support of his colleagues at Park Lane Hair Studios, Padiham Road.

Leighton supported his Muslim colleagues throughout Ramadan by fasting with them for the full 30 days which ran from June 6th to July 6th this year.

Each day during Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, which was about 18 hours per day this year.

Leighton’s manager and salon owner Mr Attiq Azam praised his colleague for his efforts.

Mr Azam said: “Leighton is not Muslim and has never fasted during Ramadan before.

“This year has been especially difficult with the days being so long but he did really well.

“We are supporters of Pendleside anyway but thought it would be nice to support it again.

“The hospice is a great local charity.”
