The Armed Forces Flag has been flying proudly all week over Burnley Town Hall.
The flag was hoisted at the start of Armed Forces Week, held annually to commemorate the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces.
The Mayor of Burnley, Coun. Andy Tatchell, said: “Armed Forces Day is an opportunity to remember the hard work and sacrifice of the men and women in our Armed Services.
“It’s a chance to recognise the bravery that servicemen and women show in carrying out their duty on behalf of all of us. The fact that this year marks the centenary of the start of the First World War makes the occasion even more poignant and relevant.”
Representatives from the Royal British Legion, the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, the Lord Lieutenant’s office, Salute, VAUK, cadets and Burnley Borough Council attended the ceremony.
