THIEVES have stolen a haul worth £4,960 from an exclusive Burnley leisure centre.

Two men are believed to have hidden inside the Crow Wood leisure centre overnight until they saw their chance to strike on Friday.

A collection of tools was taken from the centre, including 15 power drills and a saw as well as a quantity of copper piping.

The building is currently undergoing renovation and the thieves targeted that area of the building.

The burglary took place between 4am and 4-30am and police are now scouring CCTV footage for evidence.
