PENDLESIDE Hospice fund-raisers will be in Burnley town centre handing out teddy bears to those registering for the Midnight Walk.

The stall will be in Charter Walk from 9am until 4pm tomorrow (Saturday) and every woman that pays the £10 registration fee to take part will be able to take away one of the specially commissioned teddies.

This year’s Midnight Walk will take place on Saturday, July 7th, and so far almost 1,400 women have already signed up to take part.

Hospice fund-raising manager Mrs Kaye Bartle said: “The teddies are very cute and are all looking for new homes. Anyone that signs up with us on the day can take one home.

“Our Midnight Walk is a great, fun event, and, although the walk is ladies only we bring the whole community together with husbands, partners and dads acting as marshals on the route to keep the ladies safe.”

People can also register online at www.pendleside.org.uk or by telephoning the hospice on 01282 440120. Registrations for this year’s walk close on Friday, June 29th.
