Schoolgirl targeted by Padiham flasher

A SCHOOLGIRL was targeted by a flasher in Padiham as she made her way to school.

The man exposed himself to the 15-year-old girl along Church Street in an incident described as “disgraceful” by police.

The indecent exposure took place around 7-25am on Tuesday in the town opposite an alleyway known as Double Row.

A man had been stood in the alleyway when he has shouted over to attract the attention of the teenaged girl stood at a bus stop on the opposite side of the road.

He has then exposed himself and performed a sex act in front of her.

The girl has run away towards a friend walking to the bus stop and the man has then made off behind nearby housing.

The man is described as being white, aged in his mid-30s, approximately 5ft 6in. tall and medium build. He had a round shaped face with a pale complexion, stubble, and short dark scruffy hair.

He was wearing a mid-blue tracksuit top with a grey stripes running down the front either side of zip and brown trousers.

DC Steven Acres, from Burnley CID, said: “This is a disgraceful incident which left the young girl very upset.

“I’d appeal to anybody that thinks they know the identity of this man or with any information about this offence to come forward and contact Lancashire Police on 101.”
