POLICE and fire crews are investigating after a suspicious fire at a house in Burnley yesterday.

Two teams of firefighters, one from Burnley and one from Nelson, were called to the blaze at a mid-terraced house in Burns Street, Stoneyholme, at 4-20pm.

It is believed the fire started in an upstairs bedroom. No one was in the house at the time of the incident.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to put out the flames and a ventilation unit to rid the building of smoke. They spent half-an-hour at the scene.
