POLICE have found a 40-plant cannabis factory after raiding a house in Bacup.

Officers discovered the plants in the attic of the house in Todmorden Road on January 30th.

A 68-year-old man was interviewed about the cannabis. He has now been summonsed to appear in court for possession of cannabis, producing cannabis and abstracting electricity.

PC Pete Law said: “It was a fairly large set up - the plants would have a potential street value of up to £16k. We know the misery drugs can bring to a community and are determined to do everything we can to remove them.

“We rely on the public’s continued support and I urge anyone with information or concerns to contact us.”

Anyone with information about drugs can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
