Photos: Stars come to Burnley for celebrity Soccer Six
CELEBRITY spotters from across the country flocked to Turf Moor yesterday to see their favourite music and television stars battle it out on the football pitch to raise money for charity.
The Celebrity Soccer Six tournament made a welcome return to Burnley and saw thousands of people turn out to watch the six-aside competition.
For the second year running the team from BBC1 drama “Merlin” worked their magic to be crowned tournament winners.
Among those taking part were stars from “Hollyoaks,” “Big Brother,” “Coronation Street,” “Eastenders,” “Waterloo Road,” “Geordie Shore,” “Desperate Scousewives” and “Shameless.”
“X-factor” contestant Frankie Cocozza got huge cheers after arriving late to the tournament.
Former “Waterloo Road” and “Coronation Street” actor Lucien Laviscount, who is from Simonstone, teamed up with actor and presenter Danny Dyer and Tamer Hussan, known for his roles in “The Football Factory” and “Layer Cake.”
Britain’s Got Talent finalists Loveable Rogues also competed, after earlier meeting fans in the Charter Walk shopping centre, along with boybands GMD3, Concept, “X-factor” finalists The Risk and Antony Costa who was in boyband Blue.
