Pensioner dragged to floor in attempted robbery
a PENSIONER was subjected to a frightening experience when she was dragged to the floor by a would-be robber.
The attempted robbery took place at 7-30pm on Sunday when the 69-year-old woman was walking along Nicholl Street in the Duke Bar area of Burnley.
Police said a man approached her from behind and grabbed at her shoulder bag knocking her to the floor. She held onto the bag and was dragged along the floor before the man ran off.
Witnesses reported seeing a young Asian man carry out the attempted robbery before running off.
