Padiham drug dealer must pay back £25,000
A PADIHAM drug dealer has been ordered to pay back £25,227.36 of his ill-gotten gains.
Norrie Doogan (47), of Church Street, was jailed for two years in March last year after he was found with cocaine and “bubble” with a street value of about £7,000.
At a proceeds of crime hearing at Burnley Crown Court last week he was ordered to pay back some of the cash.
The original hearing heard how Doogan was found to have mephedrone worth £4,100 and cocaine worth £3,704 when police searched a BMW after they were called to his Padiham home.
Officers also discovered weighing scales, mobile phones and £110 cash and when Doogan was booked in at the police station, he was in possession of £3,784.
He had admitted possessing cocaine and bubble with intent to supply and offering to supply bubble.
Doogan, a father-of-two and said to be a money lender, gave police a fictitious account about buying the car from a neighbour and claimed he knew nothing about the drugs.
When his mobile phones were analysed they contained what were said to be drug-related text messages, threatening violence.
