London 2012 gold medalist Steven’s back in the saddle for charity ride
DOING IT FOR CHARITY: Steven Burke
LOCAL Olympic champion Steven Burke has become one of a whole host of celebrities to take part in a 3,618.5 mile cycle ride for charity.
Hosted by Real Radio North West, the challenge asks staff members, famous faces and Olympic medallists to travel from Manchester to Afghanistan virtually, by taking turns on an exercise bike.
All money raised is being donated to Help for Heroes.
So far, Rick Astley, Lemar, Shingai from Noisettes, and Olympic medallists Max Whitlock, Beth Tweddle, Sophie Hoskins, Karina Bryant and Luke Campbell, have all helped to add to the miles.
As well as the cycle, other North West Real Radio stations including Real XS, Real Radio and Smooth Radio, will dedicate a full day of programming, on September 28th, to raising money for the charity.
