Fire rips through Burnley home

editorial image

A FIRE which tore through a Burnley house is believed to have started through faulty gas and electric meters.

Firefighters were called to the house in Cog Lane at 4-05pm yesterday.

The occupants were already out of the property when the crews arrived and firefighters used breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a jet to get the blaze under control. Ventilation units were used to clear the house of smoke.

One person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation but firefighters believe the fire’s point of origin was the gas and electric meters.
