Fire crew called out to Warburtons Bakery in Burnley
A CREW manager has praised the efficiency of a Burnley staff member, who acted quickly to put out a fire in his workplace.
A commercial power washer was set alight at Warburtons Bakery, on Billington Road, at 8-46am this morning.
It was extinguished, as soon as a member of staff saw smoke coming from the room.
Crew manager Mark Hammond said: “I would like to emphasise that the guy that saw the fire did an excellent job in putting it out.
“The power washer was destroyed, and the fire caused a bit of damage to the room it was in.
“We went to make sure everything was OK, and we got engineers on the site.”
