Fire at derelict Burnley shop

BURNLEY fire crews were called to a derelict shop early this morning after it was torched by vandals.

The incident happened at 3am at the property behind KFC in Colne Road. Firefighters said when they arrived both the ground and first floors were well alight. They used breathing apparatus, hose reel, and thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze, which took around an hour to put out.

The fire is being treated as deliberate.
