Date for Burnley FC legend John Connelly’s funeral

THE funeral of former Clarets star John Connelly will take place on Monday, November 5th.

John, who won the league title with Burnley in 1959-60 and was part of England’s World Cup winning squad in 1966, died at home in Barrowford on Thursday aged 74.

A service will be held at St Mary’s RC Church, Yorkshire Street, Burnley, at 10am before a private burial in Barrowford.

His funeral cortege will pass Turf Moor at 9-45am where fans can pay their final respects to the popular and talented winger.
