UP FOR GRABS: The new Mini which is the prize in the annual Pendleside Hospice raffle (s)

BURNLEY people will get the chance to catch a glimpse of the car they could win in the Pendleside Hospice annual draw.

The red Mini, which has a Union Jack roof, will be in the Charter Walk shopping centre tomorrow and hospice volunteers will be selling raffle tickets for £1 each.

The car has been bought with help from Alderson and Horan Funeral Services, Charter Walk Shopping Centre, SFN Solicitors, Burnley and Pendle Freemasons and Macadams Garages and has been supplied by Lloyds of Colne.

The draw will take place on Saturday, September 29th, and already more than 18,000 tickets have been sold.

Organisers hope to beat last year’s total of £30,000. The winner will have the choice of either taking the car or a £8,000 cash alternative.

Tickets are also available to buy from.pendleside.org.uk or by calling the hospice on 01282 440120.

Hospice fund-raising manager Mrs Kaye Bartle said: “Our annual car raffle has proved to be very popular each year mainly because one lucky ticket winner really will win a car for £1 but also because people know that thanks to our sponsors, when they buy a ticket their money will be used to help people in our community.”
