Burnley teen victim of knife robbery
A TEENAGER was threatened with a knife and had his phone stolen in Burnley.
The 17-year-old boy was sat with his girlfriend outside Boots in the Mall when he was approached by two men on Monday night.
One of them asked the teenager for the time and when he took his phone out to check, one of the men pulled out a knife demanding the phone.
The boy handed it over and the offenders began to walk off, however, realising the phone was broke, they threw it back.
Police have released CCTV of two men they would like to speak to in connection with this incident which happened at 8pm.
Detective Constable Dave Greenwood said: “We have some pretty clear CCTV images and I would urge anybody who may recognise the two men to contact police.
“Fortunately, the teenager was uninjured but it was a very unpleasant experience for both him and his girlfriend and we need to find the people responsible.”
Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
