Burnley men who supplied cannabis lose appeal
TWO Burnley men who took part in a large-scale plot to supply cannabis failed to convince top judges their jail terms were too long.
Bradley Stephen Turner (19) and Daniel Turner (26), who are not related, were involved with a gang which traded in the class B drug. They were jailed for four years and three months and four years and two months respectively at Burnley Crown Court in April after admitting conspiracy to supply cannabis.
Bradley Turner, of Stonyhurst Avenue, also admitted possessing the drug with intent to supply and Daniel Turner, of Athletic Street, admitted causing grievous bodily harm.
Lawyers for both men argued their sentences were too long saying the crown court judge did not take enough account of their admissions of guilt or the overall length of their terms.
But, dismissing the appeals, Mr Justice Coulson, sitting with Lady Justice Rafferty and Mr Justice Griffith Williams, said the sentences were “not excessive.”
