BURGLARS were scared off after activating an alarm in a Burnley home.

Offenders entered the property through the living room window and stole £2,280 worth of items from within.

A Compaq and Adele laptop was stolen, as well as a black PlayStation 3, a silver iPod Touch with the words “Happy Birthday, Love David” engraved on, and a platinum engagement ring with a bend in it.

Car keys and house keys were also taken, but were dropped as the offenders fled.

Footprints are currently under forensic examination.

BURGLARS who broke into a phone store only managed to get their hands on an iPod charger and case.

The front panel in the door of Phones4u, on The Mall, was smashed by offenders on June 17th at 2-25am.

Once in the property, they managed to get into a cupboard, but found just £30 worth of goods.

The storage area used to be where iPods were kept.

NEARLY £4,000 worth of property was stolen from a Burnley bungalow.

The home, on Hufling Lane, was targeted between June 13th and 14th, from 10pm to 8am, after the kitchen door was left open.

A black bag with various items inside, including a gym card and a Samsung Galaxy phone, was taken, as well as a Makita saw, four hand drills, four ladders, various plumbing and electrical equipment, and different sets of keys.

One pair of keys belonged to a £2,500 Citroën Berlingo van, with the registration FG57 XWT, which was also stolen.

A SELECTION of tools were stolen from a vehicle parked in Cliviger.

Offenders forced the rear door of the car, which was parked on Burnley Road, open.

The offence happened between June 17th and 18th, from 10pm to 8am. £500 worth of equipment, including a Makita drill and holdall, was stolen.

A NUMBER PLATE was stolen from a vehicle in Burnley.

The front registration plate of a grey BMW X5 was stolen from Riddings Avenue, Burnley, between 9am and 10am, on June 15th and 16th. The plate’s number was 97 CUL.

Tamper proof screws to protect number plates can be requested as part of an ongoing Operation Safe Plates campaign.
